Perhaps you don’t recognize yourself anymore, your relationships have changed, you can’t seem to get good sleep, you find yourself on edge or replaying the same moment over and over again. If this any of this sounds like what you’re experiencing, trauma treatment is available for you.
We often think of trauma as a singular, major life-altering event. With this narrow definition, our instinct is to say that we’ve never experienced trauma. At Cura Integrative Health, we believe in a broad definition of trauma that encompasses a range of mental health symptoms. Sometimes, trauma is a giant tidal wave that washes us out to sea, but for most of us, trauma can simply be the water we swam in (or are still swimming in).

Why choose Cura Integrative Health for trauma therapy in Los Gatos
So you’ve decided that trauma focused treatment, a trauma informed approach, or a trauma specialist is right for you. Choosing the right place and trauma therapist can sometimes be confusing. Below, we will explain the kinds of patients we typically work with and why they chose to seek treatment from our team of mental health professionals.
Experience and Training
All of our clinicians at Cura Integrative Health have experience in and receive ongoing training in the latest trauma treatment. Trauma treatments are an evolving field and it is one of our top priorities to be well-informed and practicing the latest evidence based research to ensure effective treatment for our patients.
We understand that each person’s experience of trauma is unique and deserves specialized attention and care. While we are knowledgable in the latest research, we value your own trauma experience and always ensure your own experiences and feedback are a part of your individualized treatment plan and ongoing care.
We don’t believe a singular treatment approach is the most effective form of treatment for most trauma survivors. We offer an integrative approach to effectively treating trauma which includes, therapy, neurofeedback, biofeedback, and other somatic treatments. Research supports that an integrative approach is most effective when it comes to trauma treatment, anxiety management and managing PTSD symptoms.
Flexible Treatment Options
We offer flexible treatment options to fit your dynamic life. We don’t believe in a one size fits all approach. After our initial assessment, we provide a recommended treatment plan but strive to always take your concerns, goals, and needs into account and work with you to customize a plan that’s going to work for you.
When Cura Integrative Health might not be the best fit for you
When looking for a therapist who provides trauma focused therapy, there are many factors that go into your decision-making process. It’s important to find a placement that works for you in a number of ways. Though we strive to accommodate our patients and their needs, here are some reasons why someone may not be a good fit for you.
Cura Integrative Health offers both in person therapy and online therapy for anyone located in California. We have two conveniently located office locations in Los Gatos and Santa Clara, CA. If you are only seeking in person therapy don’t live in an area where you can access our office locations, you may want to consider other in person options that would be more accessible to you.
All of our clinicians are out of network providers which means that we don’t bill insurance providers directly. We do provide super bills upon request for you to submit to your provider for any potential reimbursement, depending on your provider and plan coverage. If you are looking to have a therapist bill your insurance provider directly, we recommend contacting your insurance provider and requesting a list of in-network providers to meet your needs.
Our clinicians each offer days and times that they have availability to schedule new patients. While we aim to provide scheduling and availability options to all of our new patients, during your intake call our Care Coordinator will review with you the days and times available for sessions. If none of those meet your availability needs, our Care Coordinator is happy to provide referrals to outside resources. To find out about our current availability, reach out to schedule an intake call.
We typically have a limited number of sliding scale spots available in our practice and across all of our clinicians. If you require a sliding scale and we don’t have any sliding scale spots available upon the time of your intake call, our Care Coordinator will provide additional referrals to other resources that might be able to meet your financial needs or encourage you to reach back out a certain time to check in about sliding scale spots.
